SOCCER IN SMITHVILLE!

#18 is on the field.
GO Tigers!
Dylan had a blast playing for the Tigers this season.
For their last game and team pictures they all spiked their
hair into mohawks. Dylan has grown his hair out so long
that his was the tallest. (and we think the coolest!)
I have gone thru the photos and put some think blogs on each photo
so you can tell where he is, and what he is doing.
We all had a blast watching from the sidelines.
Dylan played a defensive post, so he defended the
goal and played back quiet often.
A couple of times Coach let him play forward.
This is the coach's son (the best player on the team)
telling Dylan what to do. Or trying at least.
He made several goals and was praised loudly from all
including his coach. He was more interested in the $5 that
Pappy promised a couple of times with making a goal!

When going thru these photos I happened to find this one. So funny. He is trying so hard his tongue is sticking out! = )

Quiet often you saw this on the field. Being a defensive player and having really good offensive players left a lot of down time! But Winning is always fun! And this team did a lot of it.
They only lost one game. At the end of each game the parents lined up and
the boys ran thru, giving a high 5 all the way down.

The girls had fun too! So funny how the world is small. A friend that Katie and I went to school and played softball with, had a son Dakotah that played on the team. She and her husband also had 4 other girls! So you know Desiree & Dakota fit right in! Here they are posing for their photo and playing ring-a-round the rosies. We are all excited for the Fall season to start. This was a great team!

Way to go TIGERS!!

1st FARM TRIP of 2008

Fish & Cows!
First trip out to the farm! I love going there. It is like the moment you enter the gate your being transported to another planet. Where it is peaceful, quiet (unless the boys are shooting their guns), and everything bad in the world today seems to fade away,
and no longer exist.
We were all checking out the farm running around on the 4-wheeler, dad fishing on the boat, when all of a sudden we look up and a herd of cows walk across the dam! We were awestruck. Come to find out they had pushed down the barb-wire fence from the neighbor next door.
So I guess they agree too,
the grass is greener on the other side!
Fishing... what it is like to have your own stocked pond to fish without the jetskiiers, boats, and all that annoying stuff. The boys love it... They have a contest every time we go to see who catches the biggest fish and the most fish. It goes back and forth on the winner. The winner...well he gets bragging rights until the next time they go. And trust me, it is bragged upon quiet often. = )
This time around ... Dad won! The last cast and last catch of the Day!
Huge! As you can see...Mom could fit her whole hand in its mouth~Mom did give the boys a run for their money though!
So excited with each catch.
She looked like one of the kids...catching her first fish ever!

We did meet a new friend. This little guy was hanging out in an old rubber boot under one of the big trees. I waited foreverrrrr for him to come out so I could show you all his pretty colors. No luck. He just peaked out to say hello.

As the day moves on you slow down in the sun, and really start to appreciate the scenery. This is my favorite view. The road creeps around a big set of trees, with the branches lying low. Mom, Dad, and Jacob took in another view... Watching the leaves blow in the Big'Ole Oak Tree above.
Not a bad view either.. Well.. until another day at the farm...

Here is video of the cows... to keep you company until then.
